The professional and amateur Clubs of London Irish are settling well into their new training ground at Hazelwood and this weekend will host their first matches at the elite facility.

The Club officially moved across from their old base at the Avenue on 1st July and will welcome supporters and members of the Club and the local community this weekend as the professional side take on Bristol Rugby and the Wild Geese meet Dings Crusaders. The professional club’s Academy teams will play two games on Friday as a curtain raiser for the London Irish vs. Bristol Rugby match.

The 63-acre site is four times the size of the old Avenue training facility and features five full-size pitches, one of which is an artificial 4G surface. The gym is state of the art and the venue includes conferencing facilities that will be managed by a new operating Company, Hazelwood Centre Limited.

London Irish President, Mick Crossan said: “The London Irish training centre is a state of the art facility for use by not only the professional and amateur clubs of London Irish, but the whole of the local community. We are delighted that of our ambitious plans have come to fruition and believe that our new home provides a lasting legacy for our Club and all of those who will be using it.”
